I’m not a big fan of Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis. Much of my politics are based on the inherent dignity I believe all Sapient life is born with. So to say I think Wendy Davis is misguided is putting it mildly. Yes, I could go full Penn and Teller here, but I won’t. Its not my style.
But the latest about her just makes me pissed off. I have had my share of abusive and bad ex’s. I won’t get into it here, my private life is my own, but I empathize with her ex. See, CBS is reporting Wendy Davis left her Ex-Husband the DAY after he finished paying off her student loans.
She did receive scholarships that helped her through community college and her first year at Texas Christian University, but by then she had married Jeff Davis, a family friend she met at her father’s Fort Worth Dinner theater. Jeff Davis paid for her last two years at TCU, and then took money out of his 401(k) account and a loan to pay for her time at Harvard.
Wendy Davis told the Dallas Morning News that the money was “community resources. We paid for it together.”
His final payment on the loan coincided with their separation in November 2003; the two divorced in 2005. Jeff Davis got custody of both Amber, Wendy’s child from her previous marriage and their daughter together, Dru.
That ungrateful woman legally separated herself from him on the day he had finished raiding his 401(k) to pay for her schooling. She drained his accounts and ran. Maybe my own history here is clouding my vision, but this makes me question Ms. Davis’ empathy. She’s as bad as the scam artists P&T regularly featured.
