I don’t know what else to say, except Ukraine is burning. If you have been paying attention to what is happening in Ukraine, you know why. If not, go check out what Prof. Jacobson and his staff and co-bloggers are saying. It’s bad.
I was a supporter of the protests at first, but as they kept going and support for the government continued to degrade, the radicals are gaining ground.
Had the Prime Minister put the trade deal up for referendum, or done something to actually allow the people to have more say in the government, this might have ended peacefully. It still might. But with two months of bad blood between the Nationalist and Pro-EU protestors on one side and the police on the other, that is becoming less likely. If the leadership wants a peaceful solution, their options are shrinking.
